TMobile Monopole Site at Rte 62
While driving down Cambridge Street, Rte 3A in Burlington, MA, I came across a new TMobile site which was in the process of being built. The tower had been placed about 6 months earlier, and I had assumed it had already been turned up. It had been on my list of TMobile sites to photograph, and when I saw them working with the crane, I drove home to get my camera!
Above you see the view from the street.
Above and below you see the worker hanging in the basket suspended from a crane. They are wiring up splitters at the antenna, which you see exposed. They will have panels placed over them when complete, which will make the monopole look like a tower with no antenna attached!
Above you have a few photos of the base of the tower. You can see they have the coax cable laid out and ready to be pulled up the interior of the monopole.
Above you see the worker has one of the panels that cover the currently exposed antennas.
These monopoles with no exposed antennas seem to be getting more popular, since they have a more aesthetic appeal. I have to give credit to the men doing this job. It was a bone chilling day in February, and I was cold just taking a few photographs!
